Consisting of the towns of Murphy, Williams and Ruch, the Applegate Valley is just 23 miles from Medford and extends to California is perfect for swimming, boating, fishing, camping and much more and is a popular area for locals from Ashland, Medford and Jacksonville to visit. There are a number of hiking and walking trails in the area, for both advanced and leisurely exercisers. There is even the “Sasquatch Trap” which can be reached by a short trail and was used until 1970 and is still visited frequently by those thinking the elusive Big Foot may still be in the area.
