Southern Oregon : Medford
  Welcome to Medford...
Medford is known as “The Center of the Rogue Valley” and is southern Oregon’s largest and most diverse city. Rich in history and culture and surrounded by scenic landscapes of agricultural bounty and recreational opportunity, Medford is a city for all seasons and is host to a variety of events and festivals year round. The annual Pear Blossom Parade and Run celebrates the fact that Medford is home to some of the oldest pear orchards in the USA and today is one of the highest yielding areas for pears. Art in Bloom, the Rogue Valley Hot Air Balloon Rally, the Medford Classic Car Cruise, the Medford Jazz Jubilee, the Providence Festival of Trees and the annual Jackson County Fair are just a few of the many festival events that the city hosts during the year. The Ginger Rogers Craterian Theater venue brings Broadway plays, musicals, ballet, opera, world class solo celebrity performers, and family entertainment to town. There are more than enough hotel accommodations and meeting spaces to fulfill the needs of conventioners and tourists alike and Medford’s Visitors and Convention Bureau can help plan and coordinate most events.

Located midway between Portland and San Francisco, Medford is the industrial, medical, and service center of Southern Oregon and Northern California. The Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport is the areas regional airport serving Jackson County, the entire Rogue Valley and seven additional counties. A number of different airline carriers service the airport with daily flights to Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. The Rogue Valley Transportation District (RVTD) is the local weekday bus service that connects Medford to its surrounding cities and towns, including Ashland.

Protected by the surrounding foothills of the Sisikiyou Mountains, Medford’s climate is mild and the area experiences four distinct seasons. Rafting, fishing, hiking, and camping are activities to enjoy in this scenic area year round, with skiing at nearby Mt. Ashland on-going during the winter and spring. Crater Lake National Park is only 80 mile from Medford and is a sight not to be missed. Wineries, golf courses, theaters, art galleries, restaurants, boutique and mall shopping, and the availability of those world famous pears from Harry and David are just some of the bounty that Medford Oregon has to share with you. And it’s all always ripe for the picking!
